Unlike today's push button world, there was a time (well actually for most of recorded history) when men fought hand to hand, completely aware of who they were killing and being slain by in return. A time when the sights and sounds and even the smell of battle could send men into a battlefield frenzy or send a visible shudder of fear through the ranks.
Welcome to the Ancient Way of War, three fast-paced games that test the very nature of man.
Now, here is your chance to pick up great titles at a bargain price - indeed, back then they called it "plunder!"
Day of the Chariot: Kadesh
Kadesh must be the chariot battle of all time. Sources conflict and disagree, but there may have been as many as 5000 chariots in this twisted, confused, and bloody battle, fought to determine the borders between Egypt and the Hittite confederacy. Now you can take the reins and lead your lines/lions into battle. Day of the Chariot: Kadesh offers a classic design into a tactical view of one of the most-discussed battles of middle eastern history, and everything you need to play a system emphasizing command control and flexibility (or the lack thereof).

Go Tell the Spartans
Few battles in history seem as “against the odds” as the tale of “300 Spartans” against a Persian host that some say neared a million soldiers.
If the actual numbers of Persians are more like 200,000, and if there were something like 7000 Greek warriors originally manning “the Hot Gates” of Thermopylae, it still represents an epic moment of history that has captured the imagination for centuries.

Vercingetorix: The Twilight of the Gauls
Vercingetorix, a game by designer Richard Berg, challenges players to unify Gaul in and around the 1st Century B.C.E. From 2-4 players compete for power in all three of the main Gallic areas. The Romans and Germans are NOT active players, but introduced with random and temporary control to interfere with active player intentions.
Players draw chits each turn to improve their holdings, begin campaigns, or obtain more tribal allies. Or, they may draw surprising "Opportunity" chits that allow them to interfere with other players' turns and even launch revolts that could suppress Roman activities and elevate player esteem.
